Sivuston toimivuus ja tulevaisuus

Vaikka en sivustoa olekkaan päivittänyt aiemmin yhtä aktiivisesti kuin olisin halunnut, Tumblerin jatkuvat kasvukivut ovat alkaneet hiertämään päässäni juuri sitä tiettyä kohtaa. On tullut siis aika uuden alustan etsintään.

Koska en henkilökohtaisella tasolla pidä WordPressin toimintatavoista, tai tavoista joilla kyseistä järjestelmää pääsee itse kehittämään, on se pois laskuista. MODx ja useat kumppanit ovat olleet testissä jo useampaan kertaan, mutta eivät ole miellyttäneet minua henkilökohtaisella tasolla.

Seuraavaksi testiin lähtee ExpressionEngine, johon ostin FusionAds Holiday Bundle:n mukana Freelancer-lisenssin. EE kaikkien aiempien lukukokemusten mukaan on aina vaikuttanut erittäin hyvältä sisällönhallintajärjestelmältä ja monet ovat sitä suositelleet. Lisäksi olen jo muutaman vuoden kehittänyt kaikki isoimmat projektini CodeIgniter-frameworkin avulla, joka sykkii ExpressionEnginen sisällä. Puoltavia ajatuksia on siis useampia kuin vastaan. 

Tarkoitus olisi myös luoda keino tuoda kaikki vanhat merkinnät täältä uuteen, mutta se onkin oma projektinsa.

Viimevuoden tammikuussa kirjoitin kymmenen asiaa, jotka olisivat minun vuoden tavoitteet. Osa listalla olleista kohdista jäi vähemmälle huomiolle, mutta useammassa onnistuin erittäin hyvin.

Tärkeimpänä pidin kohtaa “Ei”: Tarkoitus oli siis oppia tuo maaginen sana ja sen käyttö. Olen torjunut useampia työ- ja muitakin tarjouksia, keskittynyt siihen mikä on juuri nyt ajankohtaista. Olen myös tällä onnistunut aikaisemman, “Itsekuria & pitkäjänteisyyttä” -kohdan “suorittamisessa.”

Kuntoilin ja ulkoilin enemmän kuin monena aikaisempana vuotena yhteensä. Tässä auttoi huomattavasti työharjoittelupaikasta saamani pyörä. Rentoutuminen onnistui helpommin ja vireystila oli päivä päivältä parempi.

Aloin myös kirjoittaa enemmän, useammin ja keskittyen enemmän kirjoittamaani asiaan. Mietin lauseita uudelleen ja yritin noudattaa 12–15 sanan sääntöä. Opettelin siis kirjoittamaan uudelleen.

Opin matematiikkaa, luonnontieteitä ja pääsin lähemmäksi itseäni. Opin itsestäni uusia puolia ja hyväksyin vanhoja. Opin olemaan sosiaalisempi ja pääsin useasta erilaisten tilanteiden peloista. On paljon helpompi hengittää.

Tutustuin uusiin ihmisiin, sain uusia ystäviä ja kavereita. Samaan aikaan yhteyksiä vanhoihin ystäviin katkesi, toisaalta suhde uudempiin ystäviin syveni. Hyvästejä ei kuitenkaan ole jätetty, joten aika näyttää.

2011

Muutosten vuosi, uusien haasteiden vuosi. Enää muutama opintoviikko ja lopputyö jäljellä opintoja, sitten alkaa työt. Tarkoitus olisi myös, jälleen kerran, lisätä kirjoittelun määrää tänne. Ehkäpä tämän kirjoituksen myötä voisi myös enemmän elämän liikkeistä kirjoitella.

Tavoitteiksi tälle vuodelle voisi lisätä jo viime vuonna hyvään alkuun saadut tavoitteet. Niistä on hyvä lähteä rakentamaan lisää.

Tuntuu, että asiat ovat erittäin hyvin. Toivottavasti tästä tulee entistä parempi vuosi. Merkit ainakin viittaavat siihen suuntaan erittäin vahvasti.
